People usually find us on a bad day.

Your website person stopped answering.

The site is stale or down, the invoices stopped, and it turns out the domain was registered under his name, not yours. It happens more than anyone admits. We rebuild from scratch, this time with the domain in your name, and we don't need a single thing he's holding to do it.

You pay every month and own nothing.

Ten years into one owner's real bundle bill, he'd paid $16,000, and the day he asked about leaving he learned he owned none of it. Not the site, not the domain, not even his photos. The paying never ends, and it never buys the thing.

The website builder ate your pages.

You spent a month building it yourself, then the editor glitched, locked, or wiped your work. Rebuilding one page at a time on a platform you don't trust is not a plan.

You just took over the books.

New owner, new partner, or the next generation. You're auditing every line, and the website line doesn't add up: what is this monthly fee buying, and who actually controls the domain? We'll answer that exactly, free.

If your customers find you on Google, or ask an AI assistant who to hire, this site was built for you.

The questions to ask anyone who builds websites.

Burned before, or just careful? Either way, here are our answers, in writing.

Terms · In writing
Do I own it?
Yes. The site, the domain, the content, every login. If you ever leave, everything goes with you, with handover documents we write in advance.
Am I locked in?
No. The build is $8,500, once, and the site is yours outright. The optional $300-a-month care plan (hosting, updates, edits, monitoring) runs in six-month terms, on top of a site you own either way.
Will AI find me?
Nobody honest can promise that. What we promise is the checklist beside this box: it makes your business readable to AI assistants, and we keep receipts as they update.
What if you disappear?
You already hold every login, the domain sits in your name from day one, and the handover file is written at kickoff, not at the end. The site runs whether I'm reachable or not.

What exactly do you do for AI visibility?

"AI optimization" is mostly a label right now. Here is the actual checklist, so you can hold us to it:

  • AI crawlers can read your site. Hosting firewalls often turn them away without the owner knowing. We test with the real crawlers and keep the door open.

  • Your facts in machine-readable form. Services, service area, hours, and reviews marked up in the format assistants quote.

  • A guide file for AI assistants. A plain-language summary of your business (llms.txt), published where assistants can read it.

  • Pages shaped like answers. The questions customers ask an assistant, answered in full on your site.

  • One identity everywhere. Your name, trade, and city match across your site, your Google profile, and the directories machines trust.

Before we start, we ask the assistants who they'd recommend for your trade in your town and save the screenshots. As the models update, we run the check again for care-plan clients, and you see what moved.

Researching this for someone else: send them this page.

Who you're hiring.

Alexander Gambon. I was Director of UX at Emory University, which means I ran the team responsible for making the university's websites work for the people using them. I've shipped 16 products of my own, used by more than 25,000 people. Now I build websites for local businesses, with the full method published on this site. Check me the way you'd check any contractor, starting at alexandergambon.com or LinkedIn.

Read the checklist we run before you ever see a page

Start with the free audit.

Send your website address. A real person (me) reads it, runs the same checks we run on paid builds, and sends back what's costing you calls, in plain English: what Google sees, what the AI assistants say about you, and where the phone stops ringing. No call required, and the audit is yours whether we ever work together or not. No website yet? Send your Google Business Profile or just your business name.

US businesses only. Takes a few business days, because a person does it.

One email back with the audit. No calls you didn't ask for, and we never sell your address.
